Designers of Canada

If you practice interior design in another province of Canada, there are two ways of becoming a member:

  1. If you are already a member of another provincial association and of IDC, you are automatically admitted as a member APDIQ. You can be a « non-resident member» which means you live and practice in another province, or simply a certified member since you reside in the province of Quebec.
  2. If you are not a member of another provincial association and of IDC, the same admission conditions of your province apply. To be a member of APDIQ, you must be a resident of  the province of Quebec.

Designers from the United-States

If you practice interior design in the United-States, these are the profiles considered by APDIQ:

  1. If you are a Professional member of ASID, you are automatically admitted as a member of APDIQ, under the condition that you submit the following documents: an up-to-date resume, your proof of membership to ASID and the proof you have successfully passed the NCIDQ Exam.;
  2. If you are not a member of an association, but you hold a diploma from a recognized university and you have passed the NCIDQ Exam, you qualify to be a member of APDIQ.  In order to be admitted, you must provide the following documents: an up-to-date resume, your diploma or degree as well as the proof you have successfully passed the NCIDQ Exam.
  3. If you are an Allied or Associate member of ASID, you must provide the following documents : an up-to-date resume, your diploma or degree. Your application will be submitted to and reviewed by the Admission committee.

Foreign designers

If you practice interior design or interior architecture abroad, here is the procedure to apply to become a member of APDIQ :

  1. Your diploma must be recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Immigration.
  2. Once the equivalence of your diploma obtained, you must provide the following documents to the association: an up-to-date resume as well as the equivalence of your diploma from the Ministry.
  3. Your application will be reviewed by the Admission committee.

ADMISSION

In order for the Admission Committee to review your membership application, you must provide: proof of studies in the interior design field and an up-to-date résumé.

If your education is in a field related to interior design and that your work experience is primarily in the interior design field, you can submit your application. Your application will be reviewed by the Admission Committee.
